World Online Tour 2020

The Boys are Back - Online
Artists everywhere are struggling with the consequences of the Coronavirus pandemic. The Vienna Boys Choir is facing its toughest crisis in its 522-year history: There are no tours at present, hardly any concerts, even rehearsing is difficult.

Several government aid programmes, and a large number of private donations have helped us over the worst for the time being. We expect further losses in 2021; the tour of the US planned for February and March has already been cancelled.

Which is why the Choir has decided to launch its "World Online Tour" - and to invite everyone into the Choir's home, Augartenpalais in Vienna.

From Austria With Love

"We want to send a huge thank you to everyone who supported us over these past months", says Gerald Wirth, the Choir's president and Artistic Director. "Which is why we created a programme of Austrian favourites - music by Beethoven, Mozart, Schubert, and Strauss, feel-good music which we will sing at a concert held at Augartenpalais." For the new choristers, this will be their very first concert experience. "Everyone is terribly excited to be able to perform again, and to a global audience to boot." Says Emil, who is 12, "It is all good and well to practice, but the best part is when you get to share your music with people."
